General performance characteristics of BAT® transducers are:

A collage picture of key BAT performance characteristics.
  • wideband frequency responses with bandwidths up to 2.25MHz
  • well-damped transient responses with little to no "ringing"
  • generated pressure waves follow closely the shape of the applied drive voltage (cw, toneburst, pulsed, chirp, arbitrary voltage)
  • receive output voltages follow closely the shape of arriving pressure waves
  • beam profiles accurately described by plane-piston theory i.e., no radial modes
  • repeatable responses from transducer to transducer
  • no complicated electromechanical interactions with drive-receive circuitry
  • no limits on duty-cycle
